The Assembly and Senate leadership urged all Democratic candidates, in letters released today, to call on their Republican opponents to disassociate themselves from Carl Paladino and his unstable, extremist campaign. NYS Democratic Committee chair Jay Jacobs call Paldino's campaign "the ugliest, most extreme political campaign in modern New York history – a campaign of slurs, erratic attacks, and fringe ideas."
Elinor Tatum, Editor-in-Chief of the New York Amsterdam News, wrote a blistering column that questioned “Paladino’s fitness for political office” and warned of the consequences for New York if “this stupid man control[led] the levers of power in our great state.”
