Dems to Lazio: Don't Let JP Morgan Buy 2010 Election

Rick Lazio could soon be turning to his longtime employer JP Morgan to bail out his campaign with a massive 11th hour advertising blitz.
Following a recent Supreme Court ruling that reversed a century of campaign finance restrictions, JP Morgan has failed to restrict their political expenditures like other Wall Street corporations have done voluntarily.
“Lazio should tell his big bank benefactor, JP Morgan, that just because it can buy an election, doesn’t mean it should. If Rick’s a halfway decent lobbyist, convincing his bosses at JP Morgan to refrain from electioneering on his behalf this fall should be a piece of cake,” said Democratic Chairman Jay Jacobs.
